4 More Movies to See this Summer

Nothing Like a Great Summer Movie!

Yesterday KC over at Some Wise Guy listed the top movies he wanted to see this summer.

His list included the following stellar titles:

I am a huge fan of watching movies. It is one of my favorite pastimes. I have four additional titles to add to that awesome list of summer films:

Kung Fu Panda 2 – May 26

I thought the first one was pretty good, and the kid on me wants to see it more than anything.

Green Lantern – June 17

I am a sucker for all the comic based movies.

Captain America: The First Avenger – July 22

Of all the summer movies I think I am the most excited about this one. being a fan of comic based movies, as I noted before,  I am sure this one will be action packed and very entertaining.

The Smurfs -July 29

I can remember watching the cartoon when staying at my grandmas when I was younger. I will be interested to see where they take this one…

So those are my other top movies to see this summer. I wish I could see them all, but odds are I will not be able. Having a two-year old slows movie going down quiet a bit. We may give Kung Fu Panda 2 a shot with him though. We will see.

If I had to choose one from the above to go see at the theater I would have to choose either Captain America or Transformers 3. I just think it is better to see the action packed films at the movies. That is mine and my wife’s opinion anyway.

How many movies do you go to see in the theater in a year?

At what age did you start taking your children to the movie theater?

I can’t wait for these movies either. But I wanted to let you know that your Green Lantern trailer is a fan made one with Nathan Fillion as the Green Lantern. He is doing the voice for him in an animated series also released in June. Ryan Reynolds is playing the Green Lantern in the movie that is releasing. I was confused for a minute watching it and had to go find out why I didn’t see Reynolds.
Did you see Thor yet? Really good!

I changed the trailer. Did not notice that.

I have not seen Thor, but would like to. Might have to catch it on video…

I’d like to see Transformers and Captain America. I usually see around 3 movies a year in the theater. It’s $11 at the theater down the road which is crazy. My kid is still in the womb so I haven’t taken them yet. :)

Oh yeah, The Smurfs? I watched the show but movie? I’m not sure about that one.

I know the way movie prices are these days it is hard to afford to many. There is a dollar theater here that plays movies that are out of most theaters, but are not out on dvd yet. For a dollar a ticket that is hard to beat!

The Green Lantern and Captain America are definitely being added to my list. However, like you I will most likely not get to the theater to see them all.

I’m hoping for Transformers 3 and Pirates 4 at least.

I had no idea a Smurf movie was coming out. I remember watching the cartoon as a kid.

My wife and I when we where in college used to have these dates where we went and caught a matinee and went to dinner then went to a late movie. Only did it a few times, but it was a lot of fun.

Since having our son movie going has died down quiet a bit.

Unfortunately, finances play a huge part in our seeing movies at the theater. If I was to have my choice I would like to see CARS 2 (I absolutely love CARS 1 and there is nothing better than watching it with my grandson on my lap). I would like to see Thor, CA, and GL, and X. I like the Superhero movies but my wife is lukewarm about them. (What does the Bible say about that?) :) I may be the only one on the planet but I have no desire to Pirates 4. I like 1 and tolerated 2. 3 I have no desire to see. Panda I will watch with my grandson from home.

Cars is one of my tops for sure, and I am a sucker for superhero/comic based movies.

I love movies. I am with you on the superhero movies. Love em. I was tracking with you until Smurfs. Putting the Smurfs in modern times with Doogie Howser just doesn’t cut it. The movie I am most excited about is Captain America. Can’t wait!

    • Adam May 18, 2011 at 2:40 pm #

Captain America is going to be great I think, i fir sure want to see that one at the theaters.

I just want to see where they go with the Smurfs. Curiosity I guess…

I hear ya on the 2 yr old. Not a fun experience, paying a fortune to get me and the three kids in there and loaded with popcorn, candy and drinks….only to have to miss most of the movie due to a terrible 2 episode.
For that reason, we don’t to theaters unless we have a sitter for Eli. Plus, with the wife in Iraq, I don’t like to beat my kids in public, and that’s what they make me wanna do :-) .

I’ll be waiting til it’s on Apple TV, but would love to see Cars 2 and Transformers 3. Still waiting for the next Monsters Inc. and Incredibles though….love me some Pixar!

    • Adam May 18, 2011 at 2:42 pm #

Pixar is great. Love all their stuff. Incredibles is one of my favorites. We play it all the time for our son/me :)

How do you like the Apple TV?

We don’t make it to the theaters that often (only a few times a year)… BUT we do have two Living Social Fandango deals that we purchased a few months back. They both expire in a few weeks, so looks like we’ll be seeing a couple movies soon. :)

We took my 3yo to see Tangled earlier this year. Loved it.

Love me some online movie coupons! So your 3 yr old made it through the movie? That was a great movie!

Green lantern excites me and so does Captain America, and I’ll go see Smurfs with the kids. I go lots to the theatre with my kids. at least 10X a year. expensive nowadays! Yikes!

  10. Jon May 18, 2011 at 5:59 pm #

I love going to the movies, but it definitely is expensive.

Movies I want to see: Harry Potter, Captain America, Green Lantern, and Super 8.

Movies I’ll definitely end up seeing in theaters: Harry Potter and Captain America.

Oh wow, I forgot about all those! It’s a great summer for movies! Man, I need to start budgeting some “time in the theater” money! lol

Great list! I’m all about the Super-hero movies! So if I had to pick 3, it would be X-Men, Captain America, and Green Lantern.
