66 Love Letters by Dr. Larry Crabb

66 Love LettersI received 66 Love Letters: A Conversation with God That Invites You into His Story
and could not wait to dive into it. From the short description I had read about it sounded like it would be a great read. In this book Dr. Larry Crabb goes from Genesis to Revelation though the 66 chapters of the Bible in a conversation with God. Each chapter starts of with the author asking God what he was trying to convey through this chapter. The Lord then responds with what he is trying to convey. All in all Dr. Crabb gives his own translation of what the Lord is saying in the underlying messages of the Bible.

The main thing that confuses me about the whole book is the author writing from the point of God. As if he know what God is trying to say from the scriptures. I don’t know. Maybe some do not look at it that way, but to me it just feels weird “being God”. I am not suggesting that his interpretation of the scriptures are wrong. Just they are what he feels God is saying from them.
What I do like about the book is that it gives another individuals view of the scriptures and how interpret them. That is what is so great about the Bible.
There are just so many prospectives and different backgrounds that people come from that everyone will read and interpret it a different way. I think the book is a great tool and provokes many thoughts and new ideas in what God is trying to convey through the many parables and stories of the Bible.
In conclusion, the book does center around the love of God, and the love He shows his children.
