A Friday Off

Yesterday was the fist weekday that I have not posted on in I don’t know how long.

A lot of reasons lead up to it…

I was super busy this week at work. Working all day, coming home and working late into the night to make sure that I got projects completed.

Then my son who has had a nagging cold for a few weeks got worse. We ended up at the emergency room on Thursday at midnight only to find out the wait time would be several hours. So we just decided to go home and go to his doctor in the morning. So I got to take home to the doctor Friday. It took most of the morning then we came home.

Then the entire family got a stomach bug. As a result I did not have time to get the Featured Guest ready for Friday.

That’s life though right?

So I just decided to take the day off from blogging. I thought about trying to throw something together, but my son had other plans for me. Just had to much going on, and no back posts to put up in times like this.

Two lessons learned through the whole ordeal:
1. Taking a day of from the blog is okay. Sometimes other things just need that time more than the blog.

2. Do a better job off scheduling blog posts. I really need to work on this!

When is the last time you took a not scheduled day off from blogging?

Well, one reason why I have not been posting well though-out posts recently is because of school. I have so many projects due in the next few weeks!

Good luck on the projects! What are you studying?

That is life. My family has been in the same boat the last few days – including everyone missing out on church today because of illness (eventhough my wife and I both have ministry roles). I have been learning though, that even in the important things of life (blogs, ministry, work), that we are still called to our family before these other things and it is ok to set aside something else for a day for the sake of our family.

You know, I don’t think I’m ready for a 5 posts a week blog right now… :) I try to stick to 3/week simply for the fact that I think I’d be overwhelmed. But I think you’re right…. scheduling posts, and writing out future posts, is so key – certainly alleviates pressures when you want to have things in place.

      For sure Dustin!
