Best Twitter App for Androids and 6 Reasons Why

One of my new years blogging resolutions is to utilize social media such as Twitter to expand my blog. I have had a Twitter account for a while, but have not used it very effectively. I hope to find a way to utilize it in the coming year to generate more traffic. Any pointers out there?

I believe that I have found the bed Twitter app for Android phones. At least in my personal opinion.

I tried the Twitter app for a while and for some reason I kept having problems with it loading. It kept giving me a service unavailable error.  So after being fed up with the app. I directed myself to the Android Market in search for a Twitter replacement app. I tried Tweet Deck , but I just did not like it that much.  Then I found twidroyd. I installed it and have been using it every since. I really like the interface and all of its features. Also, most of all it has not given me any error messages.

Here are some of the features of twidroyd I really like:

  • User-friendly interface lets you move around the system with ease.
  • It has bit.ly URL shortening integrated.
  • LivePreview – Preview of media and web links via a split screen view.
  • Fast and reliable.
  • Shake for to update Tweets. Pretty cool.
  • Change theme colors.

Those are some of the features that I am loving with twidroyd for Android. I hope you find this helpful, and if you ar looking for a new Twitter app for you Android phone that you will give this one consideration.

Do you use Twitter? What apps and desktop software do you think is the best? List your Twitter URL in the comments and I will follow you if you are not already.

I’m a fan of Seesmic myself, and I believe there is also a desktop app, but I use Digsby for that.

I use Tweetie on the Mac for my desktop app. There is nothing better out there.

As for Android or iPhone. Well I don’t have one of those cool phones any longer. I decided a while ago to get rid of it all. I have a flip phone with no data plan or texting plan.

I am online less and love it. In 2012 when my contract is up, I will see where I head next.

    Thanks for sharing brother!

I use hootsuite on my iPhone and desktop. I’ve tried some other stuff, but its the easiest for me to use.

Twidroyd (twidroid) was my favorite client until Tweetdeck came out. I would install every twitter app and commit to it for several weeks before going back to Twidroyd every time.

I still recommend it for most people who run one Twitter account.

I’ve committed to Tweetdeck since it became stable on the Nexus One mainly because it manages multiple accounts well for me (I run 8 Twitter accounts). I also like that it runs columns like the desktop app.

But for single account average users, Twidroyd rocks. For power users Tweetdeck rules.
