Compared to the last few months my blog stats saw a slight drop this month. I knew they would be down and I am not really worried about it. I basically took all of last week off of blogging while I took a vacation to Disney World with the family.
The break was nice but unintentional. I intended to blog while on vacation, but I just could not find the time. Next time I will have posts pre-planned and ready schedule them to upload. Live and learn right?
Goals/Results for May 2011:
- Continue to stay involved int he blogging community.
For the most part I was able to stay involved. The last week of the month while on vacation my Google Reader was on overload, and to be honest I was a little overwhelmed with all the content that awaited me. I read and commented where I could.
- Complete the series of posts I have planned.
This was a fail. I still have the series and I am trying to get it ready and completed before starting the series hope to get it started this month.
- Complete the blog redesign.
I am complete with this with exception of adding some new images here and there. I have added a Subscription Page that I am working on some images for, added a couple new plugins, and a Facebook Page (subscribe if you Like!). I am considering getting a caricature done. We will see.
- Review a couple of new books.
I was able to review one book titled Blood Covenant by Lisa Harris. I am working on the review for Radical by David Platt and it should be up within a week. I recommend both.
- Gain two new RSS subscribers this month (at 60).
I was able to far surpass this for the month. I was able to gain 13 new subscribers (now at 73).
- Do a vlog.
Still have not got around to this. I really want to give it a shot, but haven’t made time in my schedule for it. Thinking back on the family vacation last week I probably should have done a few vlog’s and it would have saved a lot of time, and would have been able to get some content up.
- Continue to gain readers.
New readers is one of the stats that was up this month. New readers saw an increase of nearly 2.5%. I hope to keep this up!
- Do another giveaway.
I was able to celebrate my 300th blog post by giving away three copies of Jon Acuff’s new book Quitter to three lucky winners: Ben, Dustin, and Michael.
Top Posts for the Month:
- Blogging Milestone: 300th Post and Giveaway
- Life is Full of Choices
- Some Things First Time Parenting Class Did Not Teach You
- 4 More Movies to See This Summer
- This Little Light of Mine
Other May Notables:
- I was able to give away two more 125×125 ad spots for the month of May. The winners were Matt and David. Glad I was able to promote their blogs here on The Daily Walk.
That about wraps up the month. Thanks to all who take the time to stop to read and comment.
Adam
What was your top post for the month of May?

My top post for the month of may was about the whole May 21st Rapture nonsense. It was a post where I debunked the false prophecy and the follow up post to that (how should Christians respond) was a close second place.
Congrats on the awesome month! And thanks for the ad spot again!
Thanks Dustin. you bet. I loved the series you did on the rapture. Great stuff!
Sweet man, good stuff! Oh, and I have Quitter waiting for me just as soon as I finish “Next Generation Leader.”
Great. I hope to start it as my next book as well. Very excited about it!
Sounds like May was a great month for you, Adam. Family vacation (especially to Disney World!) is an understandable reason to slow down on the blog updates.
Thank you for posting these. It reminds me that it’s okay to miss some goals. Some of your goals slip over month to month, but you continue to work at them and the achievements you’ve made on this blog are awesome!
Thanks Alex. I love that you have started posting your goals as well. I think it is great!
Wait I didn’t win again. I thought we went over this. All I do is win. Recount. Or not. Either way I will still read your blog.
That is a good thing!
Awesome stuff! Like you, I really want to do a vlog. I am planning on one next week…I am doing a test vlog about my guitar gear!
I would love to see a vlog. I am going to try to get one up this month for sure!
My top post for the month of May was titled “Friendship Comes In All Ways.” The blog post was about an upcoming face-to-face meeting with a new friend found through the web. I’m guessing that part of the draw to this post was a desire we all have for deep, meaningful friendship. Whether it’s found through the internet, through our jobs, through school, or through are day to day activities, we all want solid friendships.
Thanks again for Quitter. It’s on the Kindle and ready to be read…. currently finishing up Radical (in fact).
Great job with the goals!
Just finished Radical and am working on a review of it. Really challenging book. Cannot wait to start Quitter!
I enjoy these “goal” posts. I have nor the time nor the discipline to write these up.
Keep trucking Adam!
Thanks for all the support and encouragement Moe!
Nice, good stuff.
Thanks, and thanks for taking the time to stop by and comment!
13 new subscribers! Awesome! And if I don’t win in your next giveaway I will quit reading your blog…. wait no I wont. That wouldn’t be very nice of me lol. Good job this month I enjoy reading your thoughts.
Thanks Joseph and I enjoy your blog as well. I hope we can we can work out an exchange of guest post in the near future!
Hey Adam, love how you’re setting and tracking goals. The site is looking good, too.
Thanks Rob for the encouragement! Means a lot!
Proud of you man!
Thanks man!
