Cartoons

Me and my wife have always enjoyed a good animated movie. With all of the nieces and nephews that we have we have seen our fair share of good as well as bad.

There is one type of cartoons that I have really never cared for. Those would have to be adult cartoon shows. I know a lot of people that love, but I just cannot get into them. There have been a lot of very successful cartoon shows that have come out over the years and some have developed a cult following and has lead to very successful series. From The Simpsons that have been on from years to The Family Guy and even trashy shows such as South Park.

I simply do not see how adults can get into these shows, or how anyone can get into shows such as South Park. The sad thing about this is that when kids see shows such as these when flipping through the channels on television set they instantly think that this these types of shows will be fun. Little do they know that their little minds will be bombarded with adult content. Sad thing…but FOX Sunday primetime is loaded with the adult cartoon lineup. Even cartoon network which millions of kids watch daily have the Adult Swim for adults.

I love well done cartoons that are made for kids though. They have come such a long way with animation since the start of cartoons. I world have to say that my all time favorite cartoon would have to be Duck Tales though. I can remember coming home after school so excited to see the latest episode. It was great. I also well done cartoon movies such as the Toy Story Trilogy. That is one of the most well done trilogies ever; including non-animated films. It is just great, and if you have not seen Toy Story 3 I would highly suggest you see it because the way they wrap up the series of movies is simply perfection.

So those are some of my thoughts on cartoons. I now know since having a son I will have to protect my son from this type of thing. These adult shows wrapped with child appeal.
