Date Night – Movie Review

Steve Carell and Tina Fey star as the Fosters, a suburban couple who has settled into a routine in life. There is no spontaneity and week after week life has become completely predictable. One weekly scheduled event that has become part of this routine is a date night in which they go out to dinner, just the two of them, without their kids. However, instead of what used to be a time to enjoy each other and spend time together it has turned into a planned event with no surprises. One particular evening they plan to “live a little” and break out of the routine. It quickly goes from a night of “living a little” to “living a LOT” after they are mistaken for someone else by a group of criminals.

I found the movie very funny and entertaining. I enjoy everything Steve Carell has done, and find his style of humor very amusing. Him being coupled with Tina Fey was even better.

The movie has  PG-13 rating which it deserves. The language can be a little strong at times and there are a few adult scenes. This is definitly not a movie to take the young ones too. However, if you are in the mood for a good laugh then go out and catch “Date Night”.

5 Reasons to See “Date Night”:

1. Steve Carell

2. Tina Fey

3. Awkward Scenes with Mark Wahlberg.

4. Steve Carell and Tina Fey doing “The Robot Strip Tease”

5. Gag reel at the end credits.

Has anyone else seen “Date Night”? What are your thought? Seen any other good movies lately?
