Dreams are very weird things. They seem so real when you are in them, but you seldom remember them. If you do remember them they are usually so strange that you have to tell everyone.
I wonder if everything with a brain dreams?
My dog dreams. Lots of times we will be laying in bed we will hear him growling and barking at the foot of the bed and we look down and he is sound asleep,
The craziest of all dreams and the one that most people remember the most…the falling dream. You know the one. The one where you almost jump out of the bed trying to save yourself. Your heart racing with adrenaline, and the relief when you realize that you where not actually falling.
Crazy, the way the brain works. Something happened a few night ago that got me thinking.
The other night while getting ready for bed my wife and I heard my son through the baby monitor moving around in his bed. then all of the sudden we heard “ball…ball”. My wife and I both looked at each other with confused looks on our faces thinking, “oh no, is he really awake at midnight…wanting to play ball?”. So we go in there preparing to try to get him back to bed only to realize he is only dreaming.
If you are a parent, you get the relief that we felt when it was only a dream, and we did not have to get him back to sleep!
His dream got me thinking. How innocent he is and how elementary and pure his dream must have been. He was probably just dreaming that he was playing catch with someone. We only wish that our children could stay so innocent and pure and keep them from all of the sin and impurities of this world, and keep their dreams about playing ball.
As he grows though he will learn more of this world and it will change those dreams. Instead of the balls he was once playing with he will dream of loosing a family, not having enough money, or failing at a job.
My wife and I pray daily that the Lord will keep him close and that our son will Honor Christ in all he does. I also pray that my wife and I as parents will raise our son up to fear and honor God. So that when he has those crazy dreams of failure, lose, or insecurity that are blatent attacks from satan (lower case insult) he will look to the Cross for peace, and not look to the world for interpretation.
I pray that when facing dreams in the future or even failures in real life that we all will have the “faith like a child”. Seeking Christ out for comfort and healing.
Just some thoughts.
Have you ever had a strange dreams? I will start us off.

I once had a dream that there was a tornado and I had to carry all of my family up a hill one at a time to avoid a tornado. I woke up the next morning so exhausted. I was like I had been through a workout. Weird! I don’t know why my family could not run up the hill themselves????
To be honest I don’t really remember my dreams, which you stated in the post. The only dream I really remember is a dream about my grandma, who is no longer with us. And i don’t remember specifics.
Yea. Dreams are odd.
