Let’s just start off by saying that you are not going to be a professional athlete. However, all of the time that you are putting in now and in the years to come will not be for nothing. It will provide you the opportunity to play college baseball and attend a great college where you will get a great degree.
No, not on your fall back job in case baseball does not work out as a doctor, but a business degree. It will allow you the opportunity to work for a company that’s leaders are strong Christian men that value your beliefs and family.
You will not be rich. Not by worldly means anyway. You will make enough to do the things you want, and be satisfied. You may be wealthy one day, but it you are not you will be fine with it. For you have more than you could ever asked for.
You have a loving Godly wife who will also be your high school sweetheart. She is a treasure and an amazing caring person. She will love you and support you on a daily basis. She will be your best friend and closest companion.
You will have a son and he will change the way that you look at life. You will completely understand the way that your parents love you and how they can sacrifice so much for you. You will love being a parent and even though it may not always be easy the good days far outnumber the bad.
Listen to your parents. They have lived all you will go through before and will offer advice that is to help you in the long run and not hold you down. I realize this more and more every day. As I look around at today’s youth I realize what a major role caring parents play in the lives of kids as they grow and mature.
You truly will be a blessed person 20 years from now. Life might not go exactly as you think it will now, but you certainly will not be disappointed.
Enjoy every stage of your life, because before you know it…it will only be a memory.
Adam
P.S. You think it will be great to get a job and make your own money, but paying bills is not fun:)!
What would you tell yourself when your younger self?
