Oh, The Pain!

Recently my wife and I decided we were going to clean out our overgrown backyard. It is fairly large area  covered with trees and shrubs. So for a couple of days we cut down small trees with a chainsaw and trimmed small shrubs with pruners and drug all of the trimmings around the house to the road. We were proud of all of the work we had done, but there is still so much to do.

However, the days after we had worked our bodies were unbelievably sore and battered. I totally did not expect it at all. my muscles ached and the thorns from bushes had it felt like taken the top layer fo skin of my legs. It got me to thinking about the pain that Jesus must have went though hauling the Cross that he knew he was going to be crucified on, and having a crown of thorns digging into his skull. I was just pulling limbs and small logs a couple hundred feet to the road and I thought I wasn’t going to make it. It was just one of those reflections that you think about, and you realize how big a price our Savior paid for us.

Have you ever had a reflection like this?

Wow. It's Quiet Here...
