Parenting: The Caregiver

Babies Cry!

This post is part of the Four Stages of Parenting Series.

Your child is born. Whether it be your first or fifth your job as caregiver to this new life begins.

I will begin with this quote from Spider Man that I feel represents this stage pretty accurately:

With great power comes great responsibility.

Up to this point in your life you have probably never had such a responsibility.

For the most part at this stage most babies are big sleepers. When they are not sleeping most of the times they need something, and it is the parents job to take care of them. If you are not taking care of them or they need something that you are not providing them they will let you know.

When you hear you child cry you will… Continue Reading…

The 4 Stages of Parenting

Parenting is a never-ending journey. One that is full of ups and downs. A journey that will make you smile, laugh, cry, frustrated, impatient, question yourself, and offer many sleepless nights.

There is one thing that is for certain. That is, in my short two years as a parent I can honestly say that I would not change anything about it. I love being a parent no matter how tough it can be. It reveals much about yourself that you never knew. Some good and some bad.

Anyway, as I rush to beat the stroke of midnight I give you todays Monday Questions: Continue Reading…

The Whole Bible Story by Dr. William H. Marty

Call it Cliff Notes for the Bible!

Have you ever read the entire Bible? Have you started only to fail?

The Whole Bible Story by Dr. William H. Marty is the  Bible consolidated into 304 pages. This book is certainly not a replacement for the Bible itself by no means. Instead this book hits the high points and the general story the Bible tells. It flows smoothly from beginning to end hitting on all of the Bibles well-known accounts in chronological order.

The main thing that I felt the book shows is the love of God, and the love He shows to His followers. How in their gloomiest of days, or the toughest of times, He never forsakes them.

This book would be a great gift for someone who is a new Christian, or one who wants to know more about God and the Bible. It would be a nice gift to accompany a Bible for new believers. I liked the book because I was able to sit down and read the book in a day and it felt like I got a refresher course on all of the stories I remembered learning growing up. Continue Reading…
