Max on Life by Max Lucado

Max Lucado had written a lot of books, and I am surprised that I have not picked one up and read it before now. I am so glad I decided to read Max on Life.

In Max on Life Lucado answers the hard questions that we as Christians and even atheists raise about the Christian faith. The why’s, how’s, and what if’s. The questions that can cripple out walks, and keep people from having faith in the first place.

The book is divided into several sections dealing with a variety of topics. Things that I have often wondered myself. The book gives you topics in: Hope, Hurt, Help, Him/Her, Home, Have/Have-Nots, and the Hereafter.

Max gives scripture backing and life stories to back every argument that he makes.  He breaks each of the concepts that he is trying to convey into a manner that all can comprehend. He puts it in a simple genuine way that makes you just want to smile at the end of each section. I say smile because you see the love of God through it. Some of the questions I cannot imagine being confronted with or having to answer. Max does a beautiful job with it.  Continue Reading…

Today it is my honor to have Michael Perkins here on The Daily Walk. Michael is a lover of Christ, husband, and father. Michael’s blog was on of the first blogs that I began reading shortly after I began blogging, and getting to know him has been awesome. He is a genuine guy who is great at what he does, and is a real word-wheeling storytelling  ninja.

The other day Ethan and I were in the truck. He was being really quiet so I asked him, “What’s up?

He looked at me and asked, “Why would God make tornado’s? Because they are bad.”

At that moment I wished that I was a meteorologist or God.

But I’m not a meteorologist and I’m definitely not God.

So I gave him the most honest answer that I could come up with. Continue Reading…

Do you enjoy a good wrestling match?

One of my favorite things to do with my son is wrestle around in the living room when I get home from work. It is great fun and it wears us both out.

It is fun, but most of all it allows me to bond with my son. It allows me to play with him, and show him that I love him. This is something that  children can never get enough of from their parents. Just to show them and tell them you love them. There are so many kids in the world today that do not see love on a daily basis. That do not have parents that come home and want to spend time with them. Continue Reading…

A Little Male Bonding

This past weekend the men at our church got together and went on a men’s retreat. In all there was about 50 of us, and it was the largest group that was able to attend in the years they have been doing it. It was a great time.

I met some great guys that I had not previously had the chance to meet. I was able to get some rest and just bond with some great guys.

Here are some things I learned over the weekend: Continue Reading…

The Final Summit by Andy Andrews

What if saving civilization was up to you answering one question?

Would you be up to the task?

The Final Summit by Andy Andrews revolves around just that. In The Final Summit, David Ponder, first introduced in The Travelers Gift returns as the titles main character and head of the summit meeting. At the summit David is introduced to some new historical figures, as well as, the return of some of those from The Travelers Gift. With the aid of some of the bravest, wisest, and most influential individuals to have ever lived David must use them all to find the answer to the one question that will save humanity from its own destruction. This book will make you laugh, have you hanging on the end of your seat, and cheering on David and the gang on throughout.

Andy Andrews, in my opinion, is one of the best storytellers writing today. He has the ability to tell a story that few can compare. He makes you feel as if you are sitting right in the midst of the story that you are reading. When I see an Andy Andrews book I know I will be getting a book that has great characters, good research, entertaining, and written in language all can enjoy. This book is no exception.

I have read all of Andy’s books and the two David Ponder books are two of my favorites.

Andy has brought us yet another book that is top-notch, good wholesome fun! Continue Reading…
