Judging

You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. (Romans 2:1 NIV)

Wow! This hit me like a ton of bricks when I read it recently.

Far to often I look at what someone else is doing or saying and put them up in my mind to judge them. To judge them as if I have some kind of authority or something to do so.

Most of the time I do not know these people or their situations. I do not know what they have been through, or may even be going through. I really have no idea, bit I think I do.

The verse above puts so much weight on those, like me, who judge others. Continue Reading…
