Having the Courage to Put Yourself Out There

I have been blogging for about a year now, and I have seen the traffic coming through The Daily Walk grow pretty steadily. I wish I could drive in more traffic, but for starting from scratch, not knowing anything about blogging, I am pretty pleased with what I have done so far. I constantly looking for new ways to promote the blog and get the site noticed.

What Type of Note Taker are You?

I enjoy taking notes. I take notes when I read, and I also like to jot down any good ideas that I may have (i.e. Christmas Lists, Blog Posts, etc.). For a long time I was a paper and pen guy. I would have my small Molskine with me wherever I went and would just jot down notes when needed. There really was no real organization to the notes. The notebook was just kind of a catch all. Keeping ideas organized was never easy to me this way.

Thanks technology for helping me with this situation!

I have been for a few years now a digital note taker, with one exception that I will get to a little later. I use Evernote to keep all of my notes organized in one place. With the ability to put tags on notes and to organize them in different notebook all of my notes are always so easy to find.

Also taking notes digitally gives me the ability to lighten my daily load of things that I carry around. Instead of having to have a bulky notebook in my briefcase for taking notes throughout the day all I have to do is carry around my Droid X with the Evernote app installed on it. This way any time that I have something that I need to take quick note of I can just pull up the app, type up the note, tag it and that is it. Then when I am ready to go into the note in more detail at the house all I have to do is pull up the note on my iPad and there is the noted synced ready to go. The same goes for if I wanted to edit the note at the office. I have the Evernote desktop application installed that allows me to edit notes as well as clip text from the web that I feel may be useful.

Here comes the exception…. Continue Reading…

Monday Rundown – Thanksgiving Edition

It is going to be a crazy week. The Thanksgiving holiday is upon us and I am up for some much needed time off from work. Me and the family are headed down to Gulf Shores to spend some time with family and just relax.

This week also brings with it one of the greatest rivalries in the country and that is when the Auburn Tigers play the Crimson Tide. Living in Alabama all of my life that day is always a big deal. I am for Auburn and I hope they can pull this one out and make their way to the National Championship. It is going to be a tough game though. It always is.

With all of the controversy around Cam Newton and his dad I just hope the team can stay focused on the matter at hand and play like we know they can.

Not sure how I will handle blogging from the road. I have the WordPress app on my iPad, but I am really not impressed with it. I am planning on downloading OS 4.2 for it today. Maybe the multitasking feature that is going to be added will aid in my blogging from it. We shall see…

This Friday I have another great featured guest answering the 10 Questions; make sure that you check back and see who it is…

Hope all have a great and restful Thanksgiving!

Sunday Recap: Thanks

A review from Sunday service from 11/21/2010

The title of todays service was entitled “Thanks” is honor of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday this week.

However, before the messege took place a group from the church had put together a presentation from their recent mission trip to Moldova. They went to aid helping eliminate and the local problem of the growing world wide epidemic.

The statistics that they gave just blew my mind. I really wish that I had them all so I could list them here.

Hopefully I can think of some way to help in a small way aid in the elimination of this problem.

The mesesege for the day dealt with giving thanks and that we are always to be thankful.

The messege was broken down into three points as follows: Continue Reading…
