Seeds of Turmoil by Bryant Wright

If you have ever wondered why there is all of the fighting and war in the Middle East Bryant Wright’s book Seeds of Turmoil breaks it down with perfection. Wright masterfully explains why things are the way they are by explaining the biblical roots of all of the problems starting with Abraham and Sarah. It explains how the lives of the couple and their offspring resulted in the turmoil that is consistent between Israel and Iraq and Iran as well as the Jews and the Muslims.

When I first saw Seeds of Turmoil as a selection on the Booksneze program and read the synopsis I knew this would be a book that I would love to read.  I was not wrong. I love history and have always wanted a good explanation of the problems that are currently unending in the Middle East and this book was able to satisfy both of  those. Bryant Wright captures you from the first page of this book with this book. His knowledge on the subject of the Middle East is undeniable as he goes into great detail in explaining and getting to all root of the problem.

This is definitly a book that I would recommned for anyone wanting to know more about the Middle East and why it is in its current state. This book is also great for those who have trouble keeping up with fmaily lines of the bible like me. This book has been able to help me associate individuals with certain roots and as a result help me remeber them which is great.

A class can also be made pretty easily out of this book being that it has a Study and Discussion Guide at the end of the book.

I really liked this title. Wright was able to break down something that could if not explained correctly be very confusing into a very understandable guide. If you have ever had questions about the Middle East then this is definitely the book for you.

Needless to say I had a lot of  ’ah ha’ moments with this book. Loved it…
