I often seem very small in God’s plan. I often feel like what I do is not that big a deal in the big scheme of things.
I just feel at times like I am not as valuable as some individuals. I feel what I have to bring to the table is just not that big a deal. I am just a very small piece to one enormouns jigsaw puzzle.
Never have I ever felt as small as a year ago when I went on my first cruise. First off, cruise ships are giant ships. You cannot imagine the size of these things until you have the chance to experience one of these in person. I felt small to say the least. Then we are out in the middle of the ocean on this large ship and there is water as far as the eye can see. I feel smaller. Then you think am I that big a deal in the whole scheme of things. Am I important to the story that God is continually illustrating?
Then I get to thinking about the complex puzzle. If the piece of the puzzle that I make up is missing then the puzzle will never be complete. The puzzle will be missing out on the detail of what I can bring to it.Then I feel better and feel like I am needed and am a part of something huge.
God made us all unique. We were each made with different personalities and we have all had different life experiences that have formed us into who we are. So we are all needed to expand the works of God’s Kingdom. We just need to all be sure that we are doing our part and spread God’s Love.

Adam: I am a jigsaw puzzle builder in the winter. I built a 1000 piece puzzle that one piece missing. I had to call the company to get a replacement. They sent me a whole new puzzle. You are so right about the part we all play in God’s plan. To not function in our giftedness means someone is missing out. Good post.
The thought of a missing puzzle piece reminds me of the parable of the lost sheep where the shepherd leaves the flock and goes in search of the one. In order to complete the flock he searches high and low for that one missing piece. Are we important to God? Given he will go through the frustration, pain and agony of searching for that one unique puzzle piece I would say yes!!
Love it! Thanks for stopping by and sharing Rich!
