Sometimes Just Doing it is Worth It

Today I am doing the creative writing assignment #1 that John Saddington from Tentblogger put up a couple of weeks ago.

The creative assignment was this:

Find a creative/unique item in your office/cubicle and describe it and tell the story behind it.

So as I looked around my office for that unique and creative object my eyes fell on a photo of my two year old son taken this past Christmas with Santa Clause.

You may be thinking…a picture with Santa Clause? Everyone has a picture of their kid with the him, especially right after Christmas.

Not a lot of people have one like mine though.

Funny isn’t it?

My wife and I where talking to our friends one day about taking our kids to see Santa Clause and they asked how Bryce, my son, the previous year. We said that he did fine. He was almost one and really did not know what was going on either.

Then our friends told us something that was some great advice from experienced parents.

They told us that is will definitely not be the same this year. They said he will probably cry, and if he does still get the picture taken.

SO we arrive at a local mall and got in line for our son to see Santa. He was pointing and saying Santa. My wife and I thought this might go ok.  Nope!

He burst into tears when his time came. The elves where asking what to do and we just told them to go ahead and snap the picture. We only got this one shot, but to me and my wife it was the best $50 we have spent on a picture package. We have given one to all of our family members and they all think they are great. It is a great memeory captured forever. Something we can look back on years from now and just laugh.

Sometimes in life like in this photo shoot with Santa you just have to go for it.

You ever just went for something that turned out to be a great choice?

Wow. It's Quiet Here...
