Sometimes there comes a time when you just need a break. When you just need to get away form work and just relax!
That is what I was able to do last week. I was able to have last Thursday to Sunday off and just get away from work for the Thanksgiving break. It was a great break and I really feel rejuvenated from it. Breaks are such great things to get you back focused at the office. I think that short breaks throughout the day are very important. It just gives the brain some time to rest! Seriously though, for me, it seems to cultivate more focus while I am working and I am able to be more productive.
For the most part we just lounged around and decorated the house for Christmas. We are now ready for the holidays and counting down the days til Christmas. Now all we have to do is get all of our shopping done… We are last minute shoppers
.
I was also able to come up with some ideas for some blog posts, and draft a few posts as well. Some of my best post ideas come when spending time with my family. I just find them so inspirational. conversations with my wife always seem to spur on some good ideas.
The break was good though. They always are.
If you are wondering what the lump is on the ground on the left that is our snowman that the rains and winds knocked down. Thought I took another picture after I put him back up. Whoops! We will just say he is sleeping.
Did you come back feelingĀ rejuvenated? What do you do with your breaks?

I like to totally unplug on my breaks and for me this involved removing myself from my surroundings. Sometimes that means gong somewhere else or going to our local beach where it is quiet.
Sounds relaxing.
Breaks are good. Breaks are needed. But sometimes I need to come back from breaks to get a break.
This Thanksgiving my oldest daughter came home Tuesday night and our grandson and his parents came in Friday. He is a ball of energy. Grandpa will you do this? Grandpa will you play football with me? He is 4!! I can’t even begin to imagine what it will be like when he is involved in school sports. but I wouldn’t trade it for the world and don’t mind coming back from a break to get one.
Bill,
I totally understand what you are saying. I have had those types of breaks too.
Nice decorations. I hope it helps you sell the house.
Funny you should mention that. I was telling my wife the same thing last night. I said that we would throw in the lights for free:).
