The Blind Side is the heartwarming true story of Michael Oher, an underprivileged 17 year old that has been neglected by his family and finds himself homeless on the streets of Memphis, Tennessee. He is taken in by the well-off Tuohy family (Tim McGraw and Sandra Bullock) after their young son “SJ” befriends him.
Michael a naturally gifted athlete battles his academic troubles and learning adversities and gets to play football for the high school team. It is on the athletic field that Michael truly finds what he is meant for. He excel as at the sport and it affords him the ability to play college football and eventually playing in the NFL.
However, life is never that smooth. Especially for and Michael living in an upper class area in which people think of him as an outsider to their perfect worlds. His life was riddled with setbacks, and it is an amazing story of someone who was able to stay humble and loving even when he had been through so much at such a young age. It would have been so easy for him just to give up on life, because it had given him nothing for 17 years.
This movie shares a great story of a great kid and family with its viewers. I personally think it is one of the best films that I have ever seen. the actors played their parts to perfection. I hope that everyone has the opportunity to see The Blind Side it will change that way you love and give love to those less fortunate than yourself. The way the Tuohy family offers love to Michael is very uplifting. In a world full of shunning those less fortunate than yourself it is heartwarming to see that there are still families like theirs that are not afraid to love others even if it means being viewed a little different.
Have you got a chance to see The Blind Side? What did you think?
