The Standard Theme is a WordPress theme created by John Saddington and his team. They claim that this is the best coded WordPress theme available on the market.
Lately I have been looking into purchasing a premium WordPress theme and have been doing quite a bit of research trying to narrow it down and make sure that I spend my money wisely. I have been looking for something priced at less than $50, highly customizable, and search engine optimized.
Then about a week ago I stumbled upon the Standard Theme. I first noticed it on Godly Sheep. From there I followed the link to the Standard Theme site and was instantly amazed at all of the features that it offered:
- SEO Optimized
- Admin Panel Options – Allows for a lot of customization.
- Optimized for maximum load speed.
- Advanced Analytics Integration.
- Advertising spots to easily upload your ads.
- Social networking and viral sharing via Tweetmeme and Facebook.
- Advanced commenting with enabled gravatar and threaded commenting.
- Not one, but two widgetized sidebars.
- Tested in multiple browsers to give you cross browser compatibility.
- Theme will be updated regularly.
With all of these available features I was certain that my search would have to go no further. I had found exactly what I was looking for.
I purchased the theme yesterday and wast instantly amazed with all of the features and customization ability. I have already made a few changes, but I am sure there will be a lot more to come as I get more familiar with it. So I hope you enjoy the new look and feel of the site and bare with me as I make changes in the coming weeks to get the site exactly like I want it.
If you are looking for a change for your blog I would definitely recommend that you check out the Standard Theme. You will not be disappointed!
I consider it money well spent, and as close as you can get to perfection with a WordPress theme.

Anyone else working with the Standard Theme? What are your thoughts?

Does standard theme make it easy to add optin forms (aweber optin forms for example)?
I have never used Aweber, but I did find this link that may help you of how to integrate it when using WordPress (http://www.aweber.com/faq/questions/241/How+Do+I+Integrate+My+Wordpress+Blog+With+AWeber%3F). Maybe that will help you. The Standard Theme is great though. It offers many custom features and is supper fast. I love it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a WordPress Theme.
Thanks for stopping by. Let me know if this helps, or if you need any other help.
if i want to put big 728×90 ads on header, does standard theme allow me to to that? or i need to do some coding?
Ben,
Standard theme has a widget spot for a 468 x 60 ad at top right as you can see on my blog here. Some tweeking and you should easily be able to get any ad size you want in the area. Standard theme is really user friendly and the code is really easy to read and follow. Let me know if you have any other questions.
