Today My Site Was Hacked

My blog was hacked earlier today.

When I checked it and realized it I was so frustrated. I mean all the work that I put into it and someone has nothing better to do than try to screw with it and mess it up.

Having been hacked before and not been prepared. I had the precautionary measures in place. That is not to say there was not some troubleshooting and work to get the site back up and going.  It was a lot easier with the the site backed up.

I stress to bloggers to have a backup in place for instances such as this. I use WP DB Backup to back my database data up daily. SO luckily the only thing that I lost in the the hack was a couple of comments.

I also have a backup of the entire site that is done through Cpanel.

Both are very easy to setup and are well worth the time spent installing them.

It took me about and hour to ge the site back up, but there are still some things that I have to get fixed. Readers and friends it you see anything out of whack shoot me a message and let me know and I will work on getting it corrected.

Hope you all never have to go through this, but if you are a blogger it is something that you are always susceptible too.

Has your blog ever been hacked? What precautionary measures do you take to keep your blog safe?

I was hacked about 6 months ago. I texted Peter Pollock, who runs my hosting and he had me up in about 5 minutes. I use the WP Backup as well as 2 other backup programs.

Ah man! That’s rough! That’s why you never put in real personal info on a blog…

It’s never fun to be hacked. Glad you’re back up. I’ve been hacked by turkish muslim cyber jihadist’s. Glad I run backups myself.
