Today was a weather day in Birmingham, AL. All of the roads are frozen over and we are stuck here at the house. I am not complaining though. I am getting to spend the day here with my wife and son. We went out and played in the snow and mostly just relaxed and spent time with each other.
I have never had weather cancel a day of work for me. My wife as a teacher has days cancelled every now and then for weather. It is odd we both get the day off together. It has been really nice.
Tonight we will be watching the NCAA BCS National Championship of our warm home. We had plans to watch it with friends, but the weather has cancelled that. The power never went off…which is good.
So a good unplanned long weekend, and I get to root on the Auburn TIgers in their attempt in winning the National Championship tonight. WAR EAGLE!
Cannot wait for the game…and the the home made chicken noodle soup my wife has made.
I am so thankful for my family and all the things that we have been blessed with. All to often we take a lot of what God has provided us with for granted.
So today I look around me and thank God for: my family, a warm house, warm clothes, food, good health, hobbies, and weather (good or bad).
Has is snowed this year where you are?

Unfortunately, it hasn’t snowed in Midland, TX. And it probably won’t. My hometown in Southern Ohio has gotten quite a bit already this year.
Really was more ice than snow here. Could not even build snowman with it. Got off work though. Spending time with famiy always a plus.
Snowing right even as I read/write. We are expecting 3-6″ they say. this is about the 3rd measurable snow we have had. ‘course more snow is expected in Indiana than alabama. Oh yeah, that is called a snow shovel. LOL
Wow. Lot of the white stuff. Thanks for stopping by Bill.
