Weekend Recap: Parades, Football, and Sunday Service

This weekend was stuffed full. We did so much!

Saturday started with a parade. The small community in which my wife teaches had their annual Christmas parade. So we got there and lasted most of the morning. One of the local churches has a float in the parade and only in Alabama will the pastor of the church be called Pastor Tater Tot. No kidding. See picture below.

Saturday evening my parents came into town and we went to a farm that was offering hay rides and a petting zoo for the kids. It was a lot of fun and it was a blast.

The most critical part of the evening was me trying to avoid hearing the score of the SEC Championship game between Auburn and South Carolina. I was recording it to watch it when I got home. There was a few scares, but I was able to go the entire evening without hearing the score. I was able to watch the game in half the time I normally would when I got home by being able to fast forward through all of the commercials and time outs. Thank you TiVo!

…and War Eagle!

Sunday was great. Our pastor preached on Evangelism and it really spoke to my wife in an amazing way, and may have sparked something that we have been praying for guidance about for a while.

It was great messege. The greatest thing that I took from it was that we are all to share the Lord with others. It is not just the responsability of the pastors and leaders, but everyone. We are all to share and teach others.

That is something that I have really struggles with all my life. I feel that I do not know enough to witness to people, and if someone challenged me with a tough religious question I would look like I did not know what I was talking about. Our pastor said we are to share anyway. If we all waited until we knew everyting, there would not be anyone sharing their faith and spreading the gospel.

Wow. It's Quiet Here...
