What’s Wrong With WordPress for iPad

I think that the iPad is a great tool for any blogger and I chose it over the netbook for several reasons.

As I got the iPad the first app that I downloaded was the WordPress app. I was very excited about it and could not wait to try out the features. After using the iPad app I have found several flaws that have been overlooked and hope they will be addressed in an update to the app in the near future. The app really has a lot a potential, but it it lacking some vital tools.

What I Would Like to See:

  1. The ability to jump between Plain View and HTML. The app requires you to have basic knowledge of html.
  2. Text formatting.
  3. The ability to add lists.
  4. Easier way to add html links than coding the html.
  5. I personally do not like the floating sidebar with the posts. Would like just to see the post titles and pick the one I would like to edit.
  6. Add the ability to view your blog stats like the blackberry app has.

You can also view your WordPress blog form the web browser on the iPad, but you still have to in html code if formatting is needed. However, you can view your stats…

I think what I would like to see someone do is to come up with a blogging app such as Ecto, Marsedit, etc. that you could use instead of the WordPress app. That would be a great addition o the iPad and I think lots of people would look into something like that.

Anyway, just my thoughts on the app and what I would like to see come from it in the future.

What do you think about the app?
