Have you ever ranked sin? Thought to yourself that something that a person has done is far worse than anything that you have ever done?
I know I have.
We do it as a way to make ourselves look better than we are, and to feel better about ourselves. That is so wrong though.
The fact is that we are all sinners.
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
We have all sinned and we cannot judge each other based on the severity of our sins. In God’s eyes a sin is a sin, and we will all have to account for them someday.
The great part is that we serve a Savior that came to live among the people of this Earth and and pay for their/our sins through His Death.
I like what David Platt, author of the book Radical, tweeted this morning:
So let’s remember this holiday season that we serve a Savior who came for all of us. No matter the sin, He came and died for us all. He will do the judging of sin someday as I said above. So lets live our lives to the best of our abilities serving Him daily. Love all the way Christ did, and judge not.
Just some thoughts I had for today.

Amen.

I was having similar thoughts the other day while reading the Sermon on the Mount. Ranking those things is only applicable within the system of law. Certainly we can understand differences as humans, but Jesus makes it pretty clear that the bottom line is about intent anyway. The person serving life in prison for manslaughter is just as guilty in the eyes of God as someone who holds hate for others in his heart. Thank God we’re given a way out and the sentence is paid.
For sure. thanks for stopping by and sharing.
