That is the question that I asked myself as I sat down to blog today. Why do I blog?
A lot of people blog for many different reasons. Some blog to promote their businesses, some to make money, some to teach, and others just for the fun of it. Bloggers come in all different skill levels from beginners to expert and everywhere in between.
I am still in the beginning stage of my blogging. I have been blogging for about a year now and am continuously learning new things. I have come to really enjoy my daily blogging time. Let’s get back to my question: ” Why Do You Blog?”
The following are the reasons that I started and continue to blog:
- Fun – I blog because I really enjoy to do it. I think of it as a fun, interesting, and even challenging hobby. I enjoy technology and and web design and I think that is what lead me to blogging.
- Hosting – I am not wanting to become a millionaire off blogging, however nice that would be. I would like to make enough on a monthly basis through ads and affiliates to pay for the sites annual domain renewal and monthly hosting fees.
- Better Myself – I also enjoy blogging because it is a challenge. I feel like it is a tool to better my writing and challenge my thinking and creative process on a daily basis.
- Sharing – I like to blog because it allows me to share things that I enjoy and things that are on my mind with others.
- Opportunities – Blogging has also opened opportunities for me to read and review books. Through companies blogging for books programs such as Thomas Nelson’s Booksneeze. I think that this is a great opportunity for those who really enjoy reading, like myself.
Those are the reason that I started and continue to blog. I think that I will continue to blog because I just really enjoy it and the process that comes with thinking up an idea and getting it down on paper into a post.
Anyway, enough about me. Now it’s your turn:
Why do You Blog?

My reason for blogging has shifted a bit since I started. I’ve been doing it for almost 5 years. It started as a way to share pictures, videos and other stuff with family and friends via the web. Now it does that still but has become more of a hobby. I am constantly looking for ideas for my blog, to keep me engaged in it.
Totally agree. I really enjoy it!
Thanks for sharing Bryan!
