Getting the Most Out of What You Have Been Gifted

A couple years ago I was sitting around thinking about how the Lord could use me, and how he was using me.

The sad think is he really was not. At least I thought he was not.

So I took inventory of myself and tried to think of ways that I could use some of my skills to work for the Kingdom of God and to show the love of God. I was stumped. I talked to my wife and I talked about this and she through something out that hit me right between the eyes. She said you played college baseball and you where a great hitter, why not teach lessons to kids? I thought to myself sure I could hit, but to teach it to someone. I just had know confidence. So I asked around and I got my first lesson. Going into it a little nervous I really did not know what to expect.  Continue Reading…

Not Enough Hours in a Day

Office After 2 Year Old!

It seems like I have been going like crazy lately.

With work being crazy busy. Busier than I have seen it in a long time.

My son getting sick today and having to go up to the day care today and give him medicine. Then going back to the daycare thirty minutes later to pick him up and bring him back to the office with me so I could get what I needed to done.

Tying to blog daily, build a website for someone for some side income, teaching hitting lessons, going to church, spending time with family. It just goes on and on and on….

Sometime there just seems like there is not enough hours in a day to get what needs to be done completed. Continue Reading…

Celebrate Small Wins

Do you celebrate small accomplishments or milestones along the way to completing larger tasks?

I feel that celebrating small accomplishments on the way to larger ones is good for staying motivated. It keeps you upbeat and excited about the process at hand.

Small milestones can be celebrated in almost everything that you are trying to accomplish.. You can do it with a budget. If you end up saving money one month you could take part of the savings and take your wife out to dinner. It could even be done with your business. If you make it a goal to bring in three new clients for the month and you accomplish your goal treat yourself to a some sort of reward.

I currently have my blog goals set for the month of February. If I complete those goals I am going to get me a case for my new Mac Book Pro. It is just a motivator along the way to my yearly goals. Of course I will not give myself a prize every month, but every now and again it gives you that much more motivation! Continue Reading…

What Motivates Us?

What is motivation? Do you get enough?

Motivation is the driving force behind individuals that aids them in achieving goals.
We all need motivation. It lifts us up when we are down and gives us that little extra boost to get us over the hump!

Being an athlete growing up and having the opportunity to play college baseball I have come across some coaches that are incredible motivators. they had the ability to make teams that where ordinary extraordinary, and make players take their games to the next level.

A lot of things motivate me. I really enjoy being motivated. It pushes me to be a better person, and to get more accomplished.

Here are some of the things that motivate me: Continue Reading…

My Dream Office

I often think of the day that I will have a home office just the way I like it. Stocked with awesomeness!

Here are a few if the things that I would like for it to have:

  • A large desk – a good sturdy desk. Not a cheap desk, but one that will last and that my son could one day sit at to work.
  • A window – in front of that desk would have to be a window. Where in can just sit back from working and sit back and take in the outdoor beauty rejuvenating myself.
  • Good storage – I would need to have a spot for everything. Good filing.
  • A white board – I would want a large white board on the wall that I could mind map on.
  • A large cork board – to put up paper notes I may have and art my son makes for me.
  • A couch – a place to take a break…or a nap when needed!
  • An inspirational piece of art – it would have to be something that motivates me whenever I look it. It could be a photograph or painting.
  • Lots of family photos – because I love my family.
  • Mac – the computer sitting on the desk would have to be a Mac. I am trying to save up for one now. They are built to last.
  • Wall color – it would have to be some neutral color. Not something to overbearing.

A home office is something that I hope to someday have to work in. I have given it a lot of thought of over the years so I know what I want it to be. One day I think I will have it, but until then I can only plan and dream of how perfect it will be. For now my home office is the living room couch!

Do you have a home office? Is it just how yo want it? (Leave Comment)
