My Dream Office

I often think of the day that I will have a home office just the way I like it. Stocked with awesomeness!

Here are a few if the things that I would like for it to have:

  • A large desk – a good sturdy desk. Not a cheap desk, but one that will last and that my son could one day sit at to work.
  • A window – in front of that desk would have to be a window. Where in can just sit back from working and sit back and take in the outdoor beauty rejuvenating myself.
  • Good storage – I would need to have a spot for everything. Good filing.
  • A white board – I would want a large white board on the wall that I could mind map on.
  • A large cork board – to put up paper notes I may have and art my son makes for me.
  • A couch – a place to take a break…or a nap when needed!
  • An inspirational piece of art – it would have to be something that motivates me whenever I look it. It could be a photograph or painting.
  • Lots of family photos – because I love my family.
  • Mac – the computer sitting on the desk would have to be a Mac. I am trying to save up for one now. They are built to last.
  • Wall color – it would have to be some neutral color. Not something to overbearing.

A home office is something that I hope to someday have to work in. I have given it a lot of thought of over the years so I know what I want it to be. One day I think I will have it, but until then I can only plan and dream of how perfect it will be. For now my home office is the living room couch!

Do you have a home office? Is it just how yo want it? (Leave Comment)

Can Bloggers Use the iPad?

Is an iPad a valuable tool for a blogger?

The iPad is essentially a larger version of the iPod touch. What sets it apart from the iPod is that it has a larger display. That is really it. It makes viewing and typing easier, but that is all.

However, I think a blogger can add the iPad to their blogging toolbox. For me it eliminates the need to carry around a lot of items. At my fingertips have a notebook, internet access, sketch pad, and books. I

Here are a few ways in which a blogger can utilize the iPad as tool for their blog:

  • Reading their RSS Feeds: I stay up to date on other bloggers posts by following them from my iPad. I use a reader for the iPad called FeedlerRSS.
  • Drafting Blog Posts: I draft blog posts, and with the Evernote app.
  • Post and Edit Posts: Post new posts, as well as, edit drafts and older posts through the use of the WordPress app.
  • Edit Photos – The iPad gives you the ability to edit photos that could be included in potential blog posts. The iPad has some great free tools available to assist in your photo editing.
  • Mind Map – I do a lot of mind mapping of post ideas from the iPad. Great for generating post ideas off of other ideas.
  • Checking Email – Check email on the go.
  • Calendar – Check out your calendar and schedule you next post.
  • Books – You can read your Kindle books or books your buy form the iBookstore. I love to keep books I reference a lot on my iPad so I can reference things quickly.
  • Games – There are more and more great games coming to the iPad almost on a daily basis. A break is always good!

Those are just a few of the ways that I utilize the iPad as a blogger on a daily basis. I am finding more and more way to use it daily.
